  1. The Princess

    April 25, 2011 by emmalisa

Last night, and I swear it was only between the hours of 3:30 am and 7:00 am, I remember three distinct (and distinctive) dreams. Really, snippets of dreams and in the first one, I was in a car (can’t remember the color); I think it was a convertible. I was a passenger and my childhood friend, Donna, was driving. Donna looked regal; we use to call her a princess behind her back. I haven’t seen or heard from Donna in over a decade but we were friends between the ages of four (4) and seven (7). In my dream, I thought it odd that we were driving along a coastal highway. We must have been on the west coast. I could see the beach and the ocean from the passenger side, when I woke-up.

    My interpretation:

First of all, a car is how we get around in life. In your case, a childhood friend, Donna, was driving. “You were a passenger” which means you are allowing these feelings to drive your actions now. Donna is female so this means a feeling. When you dream about a car you usually want to be driving, in charge of your own destiny/life. What this dream is trying to tell you or help you to remember, (give you a time reference), some feelings that you are dealing with today was started around that time, age wise. They were developed as a child, which means immature feelings are driving your choices today. “Donna looked regal; we use to call her a princess behind her back,” ‘regal’ is an attitude, a state of mind, ‘princess’ these are words and attitudes about royalty. I believe this dream is asking you to look into the beliefs and attitudes you have about self-value and self-worth. The image and likeness of God is a royal self-image. Maybe, you are judging the appearances of regal and royalty negatively, ‘behind her back,’ sounds like you don’t want to be that way.

“Highway represents the path in life chosen by the dreamer (you) to accomplish your goals. Physical life is the result of a series of choices made by each individual. Opportunities for Self betterment abound. (Maybe, you don’t want to be called a ‘princess’). A sequence of choices, based upon the initiation of and response to experience, creates an individual’s path in life. A highway in the language of mind symbolizes this process,” (Condron 1997, 126).

Ocean is a very good sign in a dream. “Sea of life; enormous emotional energy to be respected and used wisely. Source of your life force,” (Bethards 1995, 133). You have this enormous energy, this big life but you are not using it wisely, you are going along for the ride. You have the ability and the value to take charge and let the mature Spirit of God within you drive and motivate you. You can count of that. You can feel safe with that.

    What this dream means:

Hosea 4:6a said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Why are we destroyed? I ask, because you have rejected knowledge.”

Once upon a time there was a little princess who sacrificed her inner beauty because she was afraid to put her “Real True Self out there,” her princess. She moved through life as a passenger hiding her royalty and regalia as a princess. This dream is showing her how to get out of her head, her conscious traditional, habitual way of being, her worldly way of thinking, and into her heart, therefore living from that Divine place of royalty within. Dreams are designed to help you burst out of your self-imposed-image, your mundane life, and start living ‘full out.’

  2. This Treasure Within

    March 19, 2011 by emmalisa

“We have this treasure in earthen vessels,” is how Paul describes the human body in 2 Corinthians. “We are like common clay pots,” is how some translations read. Paul uses this image to remind us that the supreme power belongs to God within us.

The gold metal key-n-lock in this dream reminds me of the great treasure I carry within me every day. It is strong and durable. It is everylasting. How de-valued and worthless I must have been feeling that I had to be reminded, through a dream, of who I AM. I am not the only one who carries this treasure — you carry it too! NOW, do you understand how valuable you are?

  3. Last Night I Dreamed…

    March 12, 2011 by emmalisa

I was walking down the middle of the street and as I got closer to the churches, the one on my left had just dismissed. A huge crowd of people headed towards the parking lot because Marrianne Williamson had just finished speaking on her new book. To my right, which is where I was headed, another huge crowd was gathering.

Rev. Charles came up behind me with this big huge, gold, old fashion, key and lock. He said, excitedly, “I am going to use this.” I doubted the key would work so I asked him, “Will this work,” then, I took his key and lock to try it for myself. It worked but I could not feel the lock turn when I rotated the key. I tried the key again. It worked but I wasn’t comfortable because I was unable to feel the click when the key turned. So, I looked through the keyhole as I turned the key again, for the third time. I saw the inside metal bolt sliding to indicate the door was locked, which meant, that the lock and key, although not only pretty, worked. It was still usable today. I woke-up from this dream Tuesday morning.

    Dream interpreted:
Two churches — the one on my left was Renaissance Unity (RU). Marrianne Williamson was RU’s guest speaker last Sunday. Tuesday, two days later, I had this dream of me running into the RU crowd being dismissed and heading to the parking lot. The RU service was over in my dream. The church on my right was Westside Unity (WU). I was headed to WU for Rev. Ruth Mosley’ birthday celebration which was the following Sunday. I was in the WU parking lot when Rev. Charles walked up behind me. He had a big oversized gold lock and key.
I was walking in the middle of the street facing the two churches from the parking lot. There are six days between the two Sundays. The two churches represent an outer symbol of worship. The number two represent balance in masculine and feminine energies or that balance in some area of my life is needed (Bethards 1998, 131).
All the main characters in the dream are ministers. However, only two ministers actually appeared in the dream. Marrianne Williamson’ was mentioned but she did not appear in the dream. “Ministers represent teacher, guidance. It may reflect a role you or someone is playing or caring for others instead of attending to own growth and working on own numbers,” (Bethards 1998, 126).

Again, there are two ministers appearing in the dream. The number two keeps appearing in the dream.
The crowd represents the many parts of self. The dream’s context, that is, whether it’s noisy, peaceful, purposeful, indicates how well different parts of self are integrated. The crowds in the dream for both churches were purposeful.
Big gold shiny metal key and lock:
    Gold – Christ light, love. Something divinely bestowed upon you; great treasures within.  Metal – strength, durability;
Key – Inner awareness that opens door to all truth; wisdom, knowledge.
Lock – locked up inside, closed off; relax and open.

What this dream was telling me:
I have a great treasure within me; it is strong and durable. My purpose is to share this treasure with the people - the crowd. On some level, I doubted my purpose. I did not feel the key I had been given was working. I tried it three times before I accepted that the key was locking or unlocking the door. It was old, and it was really big, but it was pretty. This is directly tied to how I feel about myself. These kinds of feelings were subtly chipping away at my self-esteem.
Being ministers sometimes means the role I am playing is caring for others instead of attending to my own growth and working on my own numbers. This is exactly what I do. I have a lot of valuable and good knowledge that I am passionate about sharing because I know it works. There have been times in my life when it (my treasure) came through for me in a big way. However, when I got what I wanted or needed I returned to my comfortable way of ‘being.’ I need to relax and open up.
Churches represent an outer symbol of worship. When I learn how to use the gold key to unlock the inner church, which is the Christ light or love, the outer church, will move forward.
